In-Kind Donation Drives
Host a donation drive with your friends, family, or community to collect items that our clients regularly need! Please contact us prior to holding your drive so that we can ensure that we have adequate space to store donations or immediate ways to utilize them. Please see our in-kind donations page for more details, including a list of commonly needed items, current priorities, and our Amazon wish list.

High School-Age Volunteers
IILA works with Teens at the Door, a group of youth that supports refugee teens by helping them build and maintain personal connections with American teenagers to make them feel welcome as they launch the next chapter of their lives in their new home. Learn more at www.teensatthedoor.org.
JOIN IILA’S VOLUNTEER RESERVES
IILA’s volunteer needs change throughout the year and can sometimes arise unexpectedly at the last minute.
Joining our “Reserves” and indicating your interests can be a huge help! When there is an opportunity and good fit for your assistance, a member of our team will reach out.
Here are more details about specific volunteer interest areas:
Administrative Assistance: preparing documents or filing at one of our office locations
Education: assisting with ESL tutoring or homework help
Fundraising or Marketing: creating mailings, social media posts, or other marketing and fundraising materials, hosting a peer fundraiser
Legal: professional or administrative aid
Organizing an In-Kind Donation Drive: gathering in-kind donations from your community to meet IILA clients’ needs
Translation: remote or in person translation services for immigrant or refugee clients
Welcome Kits: gathering and assembling in-kind donations into themed “kits” or baskets
FULL VOLUNTEER APPLICATION (SCREENING)
Please note that you will be required to fill out our complete volunteer application and background check forms if you engage in on-going service (more than occasional or one-time volunteering). We will ask you to take this step when you begin committed service. If you would like, you may complete the forms now without having an assigned volunteer role.
